ChatGPT, Seeking Alpha, or a terminal
Willow remembers each company between your chats.
Willow keeps each company over time: what it filed since your last visit, 12 quarters and its insider forms read at the source, and the filing before this one to compare against. Below, how it compares with ChatGPT, Claude Code and a finance setup you build yourself.
Three things you lose when you start a new chat
Knows when you last looked: each company page lists what was filed since your last visit, with insider forms counted. Depth on primary sources: 12 quarters plus the trailing twelve months, 90 days of insider trades, 5% holders, and Risk Factors or MD&A set against the prior filing, with code doing the arithmetic. Work done before you ask: the filing list is read as the page opens, a filing read once is kept, and scheduled runs work the companies you pick.
ChatGPT or Claude for stocks
ChatGPT and Claude write well and can now reach finance data through connectors. What a chat does not keep is the company over time: what you saw last, what was filed since, and the filing before this one. Willow does, and fails a brief that cannot source a figure.
Seeking Alpha alternative
Seeking Alpha gives you one author’s take and a quant rating. Willow writes the case for and against from the filings, links every figure, and does not rate stocks.
Koyfin alternative
Koyfin is built for charts, screens and dashboards. Willow is built for reading: it answers questions about a company from its filings, writes the case for and against, and does not tell you which way to trade.
Evidence and verification
Connected market, fundamentals, SEC filing and live-news sources; per-number source traceability; deterministic numeric validation that is mandatory before a brief can be stored as completed.
What brief.finance does not do
It is not a general-purpose agent. It covers supported equities only, and the workflow is deliberately narrower than a stack you assemble yourself.
